VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – The family of a man killed by a Virginia Beach school bus last year is suing the school system and the driver of the bus, according to a family lawyer.
Christian Montes, 27, had car trouble at Holland Road and Independence Boulevard last October. Police say a Virginia Beach school bus struck him and killed him.
The Commonwealth’s Attorney did not file any charges against the bus driver, saying a camera showed he was not distracted and he was driving below the speed limit.
A lawyer says the Montes family is suing for $15 million for wrongful death and negligence.
