CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A 17-year-old was taken to the hospital after police say he was assaulted in the parking lot of Greenbrier Mall Saturday.
Police say at 11:20 p.m. four young men in a white four door car pulled up next to the victim and his girlfriend as they were walking toward the backside of the mall. One of the men asked the girlfriend to get in the car and the victim asked the group to leave.
Three of the suspects then exited the car and asked the girlfriend for a hug. When the victim defended his girlfriend, the men proceeded to assault him, then fled.
The victim was treated for cuts on his face and bruising as well as a broken jaw.
All four suspects were described as black males 16-20 years old. Two of the three suspects involved in the assault were described as having dark skin and short dreadlocks. The third was light skinned.
Kelly O’Sullivan with Chesapeake Police told WAVY.com investigators checked the mall surveillance video as well as QVC surveillance video across the street and none showed the suspects.
