NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Hampton Roads Transit is rolling out a new initiative aimed at helping the public tell HRT what it wants in transportation.
Connect Hampton Roads kicked off Thursday. It’s a campaign where the public is asked to share their comments online with HRT by visiting connecthamptonroads.com.
“Everyone in Hampton Roads uses some form of transportation today,” said William Harrell, president and CEO of HRT. “It is central to work, play and everyone’s desire to simply move about. Yet we are at a crossroads in transportation planning. We want to know what the public wants.”
HRT will use the comments as it creates a new plan for near and long-term results, Tom Holden with HRT said. That work will then be shared with the public and regional leaders.
