Armed man robs Chesapeake Exxon station

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Chesapeake detectives are looking through surveillance video for any clues leading to the suspect of a gas station robbery Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of South Military Highway around 2:40 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery at an Exxon gas station, according to Kelly O’Sullivan with Chesapeake police.

At the scene, officers were told an unknown black male, armed with a handgun, entered the business and demanded money. After he received cash, he fled the store and ran around the back of the building.
