Woman charged with financially exploiting boyfriend

YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – A 28-year-old woman is accused of taking advantage of her mentally incapacitated boyfriend.

Lt. Dennis Ivey with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office told WAVY.com Chaiese Harris convinced her boyfriend to take out several credit cards on which she made big purchases. Ivey said the sum was about $3,000 to $9,000.

The victim’s mother has legal guardianship over him. Harris was arrested and charged with three counts of financial exploitation of mentally incapacitated persons.
