RICHMOND, Va. (AP/WAVY) — The Virginia Department of Health and Walgreens are teaming up to offer free HIV tests.

The tests are available daily at Walgreens locations in Alexandria, Collinsville, Danville, Fredericksburg, Hopewell, Manassas, Martinsville, Norfolk, Reston, Richmond, South Boston and Williamsburg. They will be offered at no charge through 2016.

The health department says in a news release that Walgreens pharmacists will administer the tests in private consultation rooms. Consumers can obtain test results in as little as one minute.

A list of Walgreens offering the tests is posted on the website www.greaterthan.org/virginia. WAVY.com reached out to the Norfolk and Williamsburg stores and was told the testing would be available 24 hours a day in Norfolk and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday as well as in the morning hours Friday in Williamsburg
