Officers rescue swimmers at Oceanfront

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Some Virginia Beach police officers took a dive into the ocean while on duty Tuesday evening.

Minutes before 9 p.m., officers were called to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront near 31st Street for a report of a man yelling for help who couldn’t get back to shore. Prior to the arrival of officers, two other citizens entered the water and tried to rescue him.
