HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Department of Transportation wants you to be on the lookout and slow down for crews who are out this summer making sure state roads have pavement markings that are clearly visible to drivers.

Workers will brighten the yellow and white lines that keep motorists in the correct lanes on more than 58,000 miles of roads across the state. The equipment used to pavement markings moves slowly, so VDOT asks all drivers to slow down, pay attention and give the workers room to get the job done safely.

If you notice any worn or faded pavement markings call V-DOT at 1-800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623), 24 hours a day.
