Two injured in Norfolk shooting

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk detectives are investigating a shooting incident after two men showed up at a local hospital with gunshot wounds Friday night.

Emergency communications got a 911 call at 9:36 p.m. for shots fired in the 7800 block of Tidewater Drive, according to Officer Daniel Hudson with the Norfolk Police Department.

When officers arrived at the scene, no gunshot victim was found.

Shortly after the call came in, a man with a gunshot wound walked into Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Hudson said the man had injuries that were not life-threatening.

A second gunshot victim arrived at the hospital a while later with critical injuries. Hudson said the man was in serious condition Saturday.

Hudson said the motive for the shooting is unknown, and it is unclear whether the two victims knew each other.

No further information has been released.
