Shot fired in hotel robbery

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Virginia Beach Police are looking for two men who robbed a hotel at gunpoint early Thursday morning.

MPO James Cason with the Virginia Beach Police Department said the robbery happened around 12:15 a.m. at the Magnuson Hotel located at 5708 Northampton Blvd. Two male suspects wearing masks entered the hotel lobby. One pointed a gun at the desk clerk and demanded money.

As the suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, one shot was fired in the direction of the clerk.

The first suspect, the one with the gun, was described as a black male in his mid-20s standing 5’8” to 6’ and weighing 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing, a hooded sweatshirt and white cloth covering his nose and mouth.

The second suspect was described as a black male standing 5’6” to 5’8” and weighing 150 to 170 pounds. He was dressed similarly.

The suspects are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
