NEWPORT NEWS, Va (WAVY)- Michael Vick still feels he can play quarterback in the NFL, and more so, can still help a team win.
But he’s also keeping in mind the fact that he’ll be 34 years old this fall, and will be playing his 12th season in professional football.
“I’m not going to play as long as I’ve been playing, and I acknowledge that,” said Vick at his youth camp in Newport News on Saturday.
Once retirement rolls around, Vick says he knows what he wants to do…coach.
“I’m certainly looking forward to life after football; coaching kids and helping them grow into successful young men, as well as football players,” said Vick.
Judging by how engaged he was during his camp at Todd Stadium, Vick should have just as much fun as a coach as he seems to have as a player.
But he’s not done yet.
Vick will be playing for his third NFL team when he suits up for the New York Jets this fall.
“I’m enjoying each and every year, each and every day, each and every practice,” said Vick.
