NAGS HEAD, N.C. (WAVY) – Nags Head Police are asking for help identifying a woman who passed a fake $100 bill earlier in the month.

The incident occurred at Jersey Mike’s Subs located at 2424 S. Croatan Hwy. Police say employees noticed the printing on the bill’s borders were different to other bills.

A check of the bill with a counterfeit detection pen showed the bill was printed on actual currency paper, but police think something was used to wash the bill in order for a higher denomination to be added.

The woman is described as a black female about 20 to 30 years told with a large frame. She was captured on the restaurant’s surveillance system.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 252-441-6386 or the Dare County Community Crime Line at 252-473-3111.
