PASQUOTANK COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — Two men were taken into custody in Elizabeth City Wednesday after a police standoff along Florida Road.

The standoff with Carden lasted about two hours until a sergeant with the Elizabeth City Police Department was successful in talking him out of the house.

Carden was served warrants for felony breaking and entering a vehicle, felony larceny of items, and felony possession of stolen property. He was also served with an additional 14 order for arrests for violating conditions of release.

Whitehurst said that during the incident, deputies noticed marijuana growing in the backyard of the residence and arrested 23-year-old Christopher Honeycutt for felony manufacturing marijuana.

Honeycutt and Carden were both taken to the Albemarle District Jail, where Carden is being held without bond and Honeycutt on a $20,000 bond.
