Smoke blamed for woman’s death in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A woman whose body was found in a burning home in Norfolk last week died of smoke inhalation, according to police.

Dorothy Beasley, 68, was found dead inside her home in the 3400 block of Vivian Street. Officer Daniel Hudson with the Norfolk Police Department told WAVY.com Beasley died of smoke inhalation.

Her death was investigated as undetermined, and officials say the fire appeared suspicious.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
