VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Virginia Beach Police closed a busy roadway all day Monday due to a crash that brought down power lines.
Around 11 a.m., police closed the 4000 block of Indian River Road between North Landing and Elbow Road. Police, fire, EMS and utility crews responded on scene.
Pictures sent to firstname.lastname@example.org showed a dump truck with significant front-end damage had struck a power pole, breaking it. Lines were down in the roadway.
Rob Richardson with Dominion Virginia Power told WAVY.com the crash resulted in 678 customers losing power. Power has not been restored at this time.
