Fight investigated outside VB nightclub

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A fight outside a nightclub is under investigation in Virginia Beach.

Dispatchers said the fight happened outside Tropical Delights Restaurant and Lounge, a nightclub located in the 6200 block of Indian River Road, and several arrests were made.

WAVY News 10 was told the call initially came in as a report of a shooting around 2 a.m. Sunday. People who work in the area report hearing several gunshots.

One person was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening. Dispatchers said the man was injured in the fight.

A business’ front window was also broken out at some point during the fight.

No additional information has been released at this time.

Meanwhile, Virginia Beach Police are still looking for the suspect in a shooting that killed the Tropical Delights security guard.

27-year-old Andrew Wesley Roberts is charged with murder. Police said he shot and killed 53-year-old Tyrone Martin last month. Investigators said Martin and Roberts got into a fight at the club moments before the shooting happened.
