Family displaced after Suffolk apartment fire

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A family is displaced after an apartment fire in Suffolk Saturday night.

Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk said crews were called to the Cypress Manor Apartments along Stacey Drive around 7:30 p.m. Investigators determined the fire started in the apartment’s kitchen.

No one was home when the fire sparked.

Klink said three adults and three children in the apartment were displaced, and will be helped by the American Red Cross. No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
