NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A man was sentenced to a year in jail Friday following a deadly crash last year.

22-year-old Tyrone Curtis Arzu was charged after a March 2013 crash on Chesapeake Boulevard in which a passenger, Amber Rose Fayette Lewis, was thrown from the vehicle and killed.

Arzu was convicted of involuntary manslaughter, and sentenced to 12 months in jail and a $2,500 fine. The sentence, imposed by the judge, was the jury’s recommended sentence after Arzu was found guilty during a trial in March 2014.
