YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – A large tractor-trailer fire has closed a roadway in York County Wednesday morning.

Dispatchers told WAVY.com the call came in around 9:45 a.m. for a tractor-trailer fire in the area of Commonwealth Way and Arthur Way in front of Uno’s Pizza.

Lane closures are in place in both directions.

Paul Long with York County Fire told WAVY.com the truck was fully involved when crews arrived on scene. The truck was hauling a load of trash when it caught fire.

Only the trash and cab was on fire, Long said. The truck’s fuel did not ignite.

Photos from the scene showed the cab fully engulfed in flames before firefighters put it out. The truck was badly damaged.
