PD: Young children unrestrained in vehicle

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk Police say a 23-year-old woman tried to run someone over with her two young children in the vehicle.

Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk told WAVY.com officers were dispatched to the area of South 6th Street and Truman Road around 10:30 a.m. Saturday for a report of a woman trying to run a male over with her vehicle.
On scene, officers stopped the driver, identified as Kenya Celestine Parker of Suffolk. Klink said Parker’s 2-year-old and 3-year-old sons were in the vehicle with her and were not restrained by any safety equipment. No safety seats were in the vehicle.

Parker was arrested and charged with abuse and neglect of children. The children were placed in the care of family.
