Two suspects arrested in connection to restaurant robbery

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Two suspects have been arrested in connection to a Hampton robbery last month, and police say one of the suspects was an employee at the business that was targeted.

According to a news release from the Hampton Police Division, officers received an alarm activation around 10:15 p.m. on May 5 from the Lone Star Steakhouse located in the 1900 block of Power Plant Parkway. Investigators learned the suspects went into the closed restaurant, displayed guns and demanded money before taking off.

Police said there were employees inside the business when the robbery happened, and no one was hurt.

On June 6, police said Cynthia O. Presley, 24, was charged with six counts of abduction and kidnapping, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, one count of burglary and one count of conspiracy to commit a felony. She was being held at the Hampton Sheriff’s Office. Police said Presley was an employee of the business.

Christopher Lamont Steward, 23, was charged with six counts of abduction and kidnapping, two counts of robbery, two counts of use of a firearms in the commission of a felony, one count of burglary, and one count of conspiracy to commit a felony. He was also being held in the Hampton Sheriff’s Office. Steward’s mugshot is not yet available due to the ongoing investigation.
