Motorcyclist killed in Norfolk crash

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk traffic investigators are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Thursday night.

Just before 9 p.m., Norfolk Emergency Operations Center received a 911 call about a two-vehicle crash at 38th Street and Colley Avenue, according to Officer Daniel Hudson with the Norfolk Police Department.

Norfolk police and fire-rescue crews responded and found a motorcyclist with serious injures. He was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Hudson said.

The motorcyclist has been identified as Andrew B. Tuck, 24, of Roanoke.

The investigation revealed Tuck was traveling northbound on Colley Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle attempted to make a left turn onto 38th Street. The driver of the other vehicle stayed at the scene. Hudson said no one else was injured.

A preliminary investigation indicates that neither alcohol nor speed were causes of the crash, Hudson said.
