2nd suspect indicted in Chesapeake murder

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A grand jury indicted a second person in the murder of Charles Silva on Wednesday.

Silva was assaulted at the Hampton Roads Executive Airport off West Military Highway on September 27, 2012. Police say he was riding a tractor in a remote area of the property when three people attacked him.

The 77-year-old man died from his injuries.

Police charged 23-year-old Kyle Langreder in connection with the attack two years ago. On Wednesday, a Chesapeake Grand Jury certified an indictment for murder against Jon Crum, according to Derek Wagner with the Chesapeake Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.

Kelly O’Sullivan with Chesapeake police said Crum has not been taken into custody, yet.
