Driver leads officers on slow-speed pursuit in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — One suspect is in custody after a slow-speed police pursuit in Chesapeake Tuesday night.

Officer Ravi Sheth said the chase happened around 11:20 p.m. and did not last very long.

Two people were inside the suspect vehicle. One is now in police custody, but the other got away from officers.

The chase ended on Rowland Avenue.

Kelly O’Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department told WAVY.com the suspect, identified as Michael Santonio Spellman, 32, was driving recklessly and fled when police tried to pull him over.

A charge of revocation of a suspended sentence is pending.
