VB schools consider new snow day plan

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.(WAVY) — School officials in Virginia Beach are pitching a plan they hope will alleviate the issues they had with snow days last school year.

Schools were closed for seven days this past winter, due to the ice and snow. Classes had to be made up on Saturdays, and that didn’t go over well.

For the next school year, recommendations include: using staff days and some single day holidays and adding minutes to the school day, as needed.

The school board will vote on the recommendations on June 17.
