NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Police are looking for a man officers say forced an underage girl to touch him inappropriately and tried to punch her brother who came to her defense.
Officer Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department told WAVY.com officers were looking for Jeremy Saunders, 33, of Hampton. Saunders has active warrants on file for sexual battery and two counts of simple assault.
Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Bulkeley Place around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night for a report of an assault. There, the 16-year-old victim told police she was sitting on the front stop of an apartment when she was approached by Saunders, who was an acquaintance.
The victim said Saunders grabbed her hand and forced her to touch this private area before forcing her to kiss him on the mouth.
The victim was able to run inside and told her 21-year-old brother, who went outside to confront him. Saunders then reportedly tried to punch the brother, who was able to block the punch.
Anyone with information should call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Eley said a protective order was issue for the victim.
