Nick Boothe, Virginia Wesleyan part ways

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – After 28 seasons, Nick Boothe is no longer the baseball coach at Virginia Wesleyan College. This past season, Boothe collected his 600th win as Marlins head coach. When asked if he was fired or he resigned, Boothe said, “I just made a decision to leave, it was just time for a change.”

Boothe led the Marlins to 6 NCAA tournaments and was named ODAC coach of the year six times. The Marlins however, have not had a winning season since 2010.

“Things happen,” Boothe said. “I told everybody I was going to put everything into it and if it did not work out and we didn’t win that I was going to leave and walk away.”
