SUV driver charged in crash that hurt Motorcyclist

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries after a crash in Virginia Beach Tuesday.

MPO James Cason with the Virginia Beach Police Department told WAVY.com the crash happened around 11:15 a.m. on Virginia Beach Boulevard at the intersection of Corporate Park Lane.

A preliminary investigation indicates the motorcyclist, operating a 2006 Harley Davidson, was traveling east on Virginia Beach Blvd when an Acura SUV entered the intersection from Second Street, attempting to cross Virginia Beach Boulevard to get to Corporate Park Lane.

The SUV entered into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist then t-boned the passenger side of the SUV.

The driver of the SUV, 49-year-old Robin D. Allgood, was charged with failure to yield, Cason said.
