PD: Student brought large knife to school

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – An 18-year-old high school student brought a knife to school last week, according to police.

Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk told WAVY.com the incident occurred Friday afternoon at Kings Fork High School. The school’s resource officer helped administrators located a truant student. When located, the student had a concealed knife in his backpack that was more than nine inches in length.

The student, identified as Nathan Brian Cunningham of Suffolk, was charged with possession of a concealed weapon on school property and was released on a summons.
