COLUMBIA, SC (WAVY) – The Old Dominion University baseball team is headed home after a 12-inning 4-1 loss to the Campbell University in the South Carolina regional of the NCAA tournament.

ODU Senior pitcher Dean Ali allowed no runs, gave up just one hit and struck out four in five and two-thirds innings of middle-relief. The Fighting Camels though scored three runs in the decisive top of the twelfth inning to pull away for the win.

The Monarchs (36-26), who made the postseason for the first time in 14 years, went just 6 of 38 at the plate and failed to connect on a number of scoring opportunities.
