Woman accused of assault with candle holder

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A 45-year-old woman was charged after police say she hit another woman with a candle holder Monday.

Timothy Kelley with the City of Suffolk told WAVY.com officers were dispatched to a report of a disturbance in the 100 block of Grayson Court. While en route, a woman flagged them down in the area of Hill Street and Finney Avenue. She was bleeding from the head and told police she was hit in the head by a metal candle holder by a woman named Julia Artis.

Officers went to Artis’ home in the 100 block of Grayson Court and learned she had two warrants on file. She was arrested for the warrants and later also charged with assault, shoot, stab, etc. in commission of a felony as well as felonious assault.
