Pair charged in Virginia Beach robbery

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Two men have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery in Virginia Beach.

MPO Tonya Borman with the Virginia Beach Police Department said the robbery occurred around 7:20 a.m. in the 1100 block of York Lane Sunday. The victim told police he was riding his bicycle when a beige, 4-door vehicle pulled in front of him and stopped.

A black male suspect armed with a handgun got out of the car and demanded the victim’s backpack. No one was hurt.

As a result of the investigation, two men were arrested. Deven Sykes, 19, of Henrico and Julian Crosby, 20, of Chesterfield were both charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit a felony and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
