Burn smell closes E. Washington St.

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A bad smell caused crews to close East Washington Street Tuesday afternoon.

Tim Kelly with the city of Suffolk said East Washington Street between Pinner Street and North Main Street was closed a little after 3 p.m. after a report of an electrical burning smell on the second floor of Suffolk Antiques.

Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel, Planning & Community Development inspectors, and Virginia Dominion Power staff responded to the scene to determine the source of the smell.
