SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Four people were displaced by a fire Saturday in Suffolk.

Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk said crews responded to a house fire in the 6000 block of Bradford Drive, in the College Square neighborhood, around 6 p.m.

Police put out the flames with a fire extinguisher before firefighters arrived.

Klink said the fire started in the kitchen, which was damaged. Crews ventilated smoke from the home, but determined it was uninhabitable.

Two adults and two children are now being helped by the American Red Cross.
