An investigation indicates students on Virginia Beach City Public School Bus 932 were in a verbal altercation when a female student went to the front of the bus and pressed buttons in an attempt to open the doors and exit. After the failed attempt, she went to the back of the bus, opened the emergency doors and jumped out.

Cain said the bus was moving when the student jumped. She was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Tonya Borman with Virginia Beach Police said the bus was carrying high school students from Renaissance Academy.
