GLOUCESTER, Va. (WAVY) – A truck hauling hazardous materials overturned on Cedar Bush Road in Gloucester County Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Robert Parlett with Abington Volunteer Fire and Rescue said the delivery truck was carrying tanks of acetylene and propane and some of the tanks were leaking. However, a HAZMAT team was called to the scene, and later determined there were no leaks.

The road is closed from Hickory Ford Road to Providence Road. Parlett said it will remain closed for some time while crews work to right the truck.

At the time of the crash, nearby residents were notified of the incident via a reverse 911 call. They were advised to stay inside and turn off their ventilation, but an evacuation was not ordered.

The Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the accident.

There are no injuries reported.
