Tractor-trailer cab catches fire in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – A tractor-trailer fire produced a lot of smoke in Chesapeake Wednesday afternoon.

Capt. Scott Saunders with the Chesapeake Fire Department told WAVY.com the fire sparked around 1 p.m. in the 3800 block of Cook Boulevard in the Cavalier Industrial Park area. Saunders said the call originally came in as a tractor-trailer on fire but was upgraded to a full commercial response due to the vehicle being backed up to a warehouse.

The fire did not extend to the trailer or the building and stayed in the cab.

No one was injured, but the cab was destroyed.

A cause is still under investigation.
