NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The Virginia Zoo welcomed a new arrival Wednesday. A baby bongo was born around 10 a.m.
He or she is just a few hours old, and can already stand. According to a post on the Zoo’s Facebook page, the baby was born to bongo Esi.
The baby bongo is the third calf born at the Virginia Zoo this year.
Visitors can see the new addition to the Zoo by visiting the bongo yard, located in the Africa section.
