Juveniles accused of making bottle bombs

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Police and fire crews responded to a Suffolk athletic park Saturday night for a report of juveniles making bottle bombs.

Tim Kelley with the City of Suffolk told WAVY.com crews were called to the 6600 block of Holland Road around 7:30 p.m. after someone called 911. The complainant said juveniles were in the picnic area of the Holland Athletic Park making bottle bombs.

There, officers found four juveniles with aluminum foil and a cleaning product.

“The offenders were mixing chemicals in bottles to make improvised exploding devises,” a report from police stated.

No injuries were reported and there was no damage to property.

Kelley said the incident remains under investigation.
