NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Baseball was free for the four-legged on Sunday afternoon at Harbor Park. All dogs were admitted free for “Bark in the Park,” and they saw a pretty good offensive show- for the first two innings, at least.
Tides outfielder Quentin Berry hit a go-ahead home run out to deep right in the second inning that gave Norfolk a 4-3 lead over the Charlotte Knights, and that was the last score either team put up. Berry fell just a triple shy of hitting for the cycle, also adding a single and a double on a 3-for-3 hitting afternoon.
The Tides 4-3 win capped a weekend series sweep of the Knights. Now they hit the road for the next six games, starting with a trip down to Charlotte for a mid-week two-game set. The Tides follow that up with a four-game series at the Gwinnette Braves before returning to Harbor Park on May 26 against Lehigh Valley.
