PD: Man shot in torso in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Police say a 24-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting Saturday in Hampton.

Sergeant Jason Price with the Hampton Police Division said officers were called to the 2000 block of Grimes Road around 8:45 p.m. to investigate a shooting. Officers found a man with a single gunshot wound to the upper torso.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries. Price said he remains in critical, but stable condition.

Police said there is no suspect information at this time, and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Price also said there is nothing that indicates any of the incidents that occurred in Hampton since Friday are related.
