Man rescued from fishing boat off Chincoteague

CHINCOTEAGUE, Va. (WAVY) – The Coast Guard rescued a 27-year-old man from a fishing boat Saturday about 40 miles east of Chincoteague.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard, Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads watchstanders were contacted when the man, a crew member, was suffering from chest pain and needed medical attention.

A crew was launched aboard an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Elizabeth City to assist. The crew hoisted the man into the helicopter and took him to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Maryland.
