Driver airlifted in Suffolk crash

One injured in head-on collision

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A driver was airlifted after a crash on Route 58 in Suffolk Friday morning.

Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk said the crash happened around 4:50 a.m. in the eastbound lanes just before the weigh scales. The driver was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Klink said the he was the only occupant in the vehicle and the crash involved no other vehicles.

Two right lanes were closed around 5 a.m. and all lanes reopened by 6:45 a.m.
