NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Investigators say a barking dog sounded the alarm about a house fire in Norfolk Wednesday afternoon.
Battalion Chief Julian Williamson with Norfolk Fire and Rescue told WAVY.com firefighters were called to the 200 block of East McGinnis Circle around 12:40 p.m. for a report of a fire. Smoke was showing upon arrival.
When a neighbor heard the dog, they followed and saw smoke. Williamson said all occupants got out of the home safely.
The fire is under control, but investigators are still working on determining the cause.
