WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) - If history repeats itself, the one thing you can be assured of this weekend is that the Kingsmill Championship with have an exciting finish.
Two years ago the event needed five days and nine extra holes to decide the winner.
Last year, Cristie Kerr nailed a clutch six-foot putt on 18 to force a second straight playoff, and went on to beat Suzanne Petterson on the second extra hole.
The ladies are back again, the first round is Thursday in Williamsburg, and last year’s finish is still fresh in Suzanne Petterson’s mind.
“Even before that, this is one of my favorite places to play,” Petterson said. “Usually, every year, the best golfer wins here and last year was close.”
The tournament concludes on Sunday.
