Police officers participate in charity bike ride

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Hundreds of police officers biked over the South Norfolk Jordan Bridge Saturday morning. It was all part of the 5th Annual Road to Hope charity ride organized by Law Enforcement United.

The bicyclists started in Chesapeake. Their goal is to make the 250 mile trip to Washington, D.C.

The ride is a show of remembrance and honor for officers killed in the line of duty.

Another group of bicyclists left Reading, Pennsylvania Saturday morning.

Riders expect to arrive in Washington, D.C. on Monday.
