CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – No one was hurt in a barn fire in the Fentress section of Chesapeake Friday.

Capt. Scott Saunders with the Chesapeake Fire Department said firefighters responded to the fire at a barn located in the 2300 block of Carolina Road around 5:20 p.m.

At the time, Saunders said there was a possibility that propane tanks were inside the barn.

Crews were able to get the flames under control just before 6 p.m. All the animals were able to get out of the barn safely, and no one was hurt.

Saunders said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
