PD: Man tried to steal tent, fishing rods

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach Police are trying to identify the man who tried to steal more than $600 worth of camping equipment from a local Wal-Mart.

Around 5 p.m. on March 18, a man tried to steal a tent and fishing rods from the Wal-Mart at 2021 Lynnhaven Parkway, according to James Cason with the Virginia Beach Police Department.

After the man exited the store without paying, a loss-prevention worker chased after him and he abandoned the shopping cart full of merchandise and fled.
