SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk Police made several arrests in two cases involving liquor law violations.
Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk told WAVY.com officers first executed a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of North Capitol Street in reference to the illegal sale of alcohol Friday at 5 p.m. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Isah Artis, 67, of Suffolk, who was charged with selling alcohol without a license and maintaining a common nuisance.
The second search warrant was executed in the 600 block of Battery Avenue Saturday for maintaining a common nuisance. The tenants, Sonya Florita Fletcher, 36, of Suffolk and Jeffrey Fenton Pope, 43, of Suffolk were both arrested and charged in connection. A report listed society as a victim of liquor law violations in reference to the case.
Klink said several others were arrested as well as a result of the investigation on Battery Avenue.
Klink did not say if the two cases were connected.
