Yoon struggles, RailRiders crush Tides 16-2

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – It was the perfect storm of poor starting pitching, sub-par defense and no offense for the Norfolk Tides on a beautiful Sunday at Harbor Park. Suk Min Yoon, starting his fourth game in Norfolk, gave up eight earned runs on 11 hits in the Tides’ 16-2 loss to Wilkes-Barre Scranton.

Norfolk’s only offense came from left fielder Cord Phelps, who went 2-for-3 with a home run off Joel De La Cruz in the sixth inning. He also scored twice.

The Tides are now on the road for the next eight games; a four game set with Louisville followed by a four-game series at Indianapolis.
